AI Assisted Hacking - Current threats and possible outlook

The public domain is becoming a scary place to exist. The recent introduction of Artificially Intelligent hacking agents is causing big changes in the cybersecurity world. These new threats are very real and not getting much major media coverage. Unfortunately for common folks like us, there is very little any of us can do to provide any kind of adequate protection. These threats are rapidly growing to a level of severity that could cause digital presence to regress by as much as 30 years. Banks are being forced to entertain the idea of removing all public-facing banking services like mobile banking, mobile deposit, debit card purchasing. This regressive action would actually return the popular requirement for cash and usage of bank-issued checks over digital purchasing due to the potential fraud and skimming of digital purchases by AI-controlled agents that have hacked into various types of systems (IE credit card readers, mobile devices, UPC scanners). This issue also pushes the use of blockchain-based currency; However, even cryptocurrency is only a temporary fix because of quantum processors. The power of quantum processing combined with artificial intelligence actually breaks the blockchain stack because the secure chains that are currently unbreakable and undecodable will no longer be the primary safeguards.

Also this tidbit. Over 100 municipal water systems in 12 states have been breached by these agent-assisted tools. A Congressional Research Service (CRS) report highlighted a massive underlying security gap: over 70% of inspected U.S. water systems violate basic cybersecurity requirements, leaving thousands of rural and small-town municipal utilities highly vulnerable to future edge-device exploits.
